About Our Programs
St. BAS provides an authentic distance education program towards the Licentiate of Sacred Theology (STL) for the requirements of Ordination to the Apostolic Priesthood in the Gnostic & Esoteric Christian traditions.
Along with the Licentiate of Sacred Theology (STL) program, students may enroll in a single course, or in a “certificate series” of specialty courses as they become available. Should a student in one of these non-STL track situations decide to transition into the full 72 credit-hour program, they’re previous credits will transfer directly over.
Licentiate of Sacred Theology (STL) Course of Study (72 credit hours – 24 courses)
Program Graduation Requirements
- A minimum of 72 credit hours (12 core 3-credit courses and 12 3-credit electives)
- A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 is required.
St. Basilides of Alexandria does not have a campus. Courses are offered entirely over the Internet.
St. BAS’s online classroom environment is asynchronous, meaning you can participate when it’s convenient for you within an assigned period. Weekly discussion topics, required readings, and assignments will all be listed in the online syllabus provided by your instructor.
To get the most from your studies, you should dedicate blocks of time to your program. Students report that they spend 10 to 15 hours a week per course on readings, assignments, research projects, and online discussions.
